The air is thin, biting, and the sky above stretches into an endless expanse, as if daring me to keep climbing. I can taste the cold, metallic and sharp, with each breath I pull into my lungs. The ground is firm but unforgiving, the jagged rock pressing into my hands as I climb higher, step by step. There’s a scent—clean, bracing, like frost on stone—that seems to rise from the mountain itself, mingling with the soft warmth of the sun just beginning to crest over the distant peaks.
I’m surrounded by the silence of the high altitudes, broken only by the faint crunch of snow underfoot and the occasional whisper of wind brushing past. an otherworldly stillness surrounds me, like I’ve touched something infinite. I can feel it settle into my skin, a quiet, powerful warmth beneath the crisp, cold air. Every inch climbed is a victory, every muscle strain an offering to the mountain, demanding that I earn my place on its peak.
